Madame Bovary by Charles Flaubert

Flaubert had a medical background, it ran in the family. Madame Bovary is a really darkly, very funny book. And this is Salimbo, I guess in a way that's what makes it, it was a huge success when it came out. People don't talk about it much anymore. It just kind of exists in its own world, the style and the feel of it.
