Carnival in Slovenia and Croatia

Marianne Kriscovich: carnival is famous in Venice, but just over the border in Slovenia and Croatia, it's big also. She says there are certainly two different kinds of carnival that have developed over the time. One side has to do with pagan tradition, chasing away winter, masks with big horns and sheep skins and bells,. And on the other hand, through time, especially the nearby big cultural center of Venice, the centuries developed a more genteel upscale version of it.
