The Role of Rural Independents in Irish Politics
There is a constituency for an anti-environmentalist in the Irish political system. The problem is that that gap is actually not catered for from a party point of view. It is catered for by a large group of rural independents or just independents who mop up this vote. I wouldn't know if it's going to happen, but with the next populist decade we might see a new centrist party.
