Lee's Argument for the Anaconda Strategy in 1864

William decomeso sherman gave a great speech when he was the head of what became louisiana state university. He basically said, if you're going to go north, you got to do what i did when i went south. Lee thought that he could precipitate that dissension, and then the copperhead movement would take over. So he went into pennsylvaniaand the rest his history, that ended up in a disaster after gettysburg.
