What's the Meta Narrative of the Stock Market?

In an age to day it seems to me, where there is a narrative that has emerged, which is that it's all a narrative. And so what comes to the stock market? All of these are just symbols. They don't mean anything. The stocks don't yield dividends. There's no real tie back to the underlying fundamentals of the company. It's all about the story that we tell ourselves about what they're worth. And if you can convince enough people that x, y, z stock is worth what i say is, then it's worth that. Nothing else matters,. Yet, bring it back to that sort of nautilism, totally nothing matters.
