Berlin Defeated by War

After the Second World War, 90% of Berlin's city center was in ruins. Streets were choked with 70 million cubic meters of rubble. Skeletal refugees ate horse cadavers and grass. Clocks were changed to Moscow times. And its survivors were put to work dismantling the Reich. The Soviets kept out most of the Western Allied troops out of the city until June 1945.
