The FAA's Tough Time Staffing and N90
FAA is trying to prevent airlines from having to keep their slots going by doing what's called slot squatting. N90, which is the New York terminal radar approach control facility, only operating at about 54% of its staffing target. The FAA says dedicated training initiatives have been successful in reducing most of the training backlog with the exception of N90.
