The Role of Religion in the Development of Eastern European Identity
Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages is kind of poised between Western Europe on one end and Eurasia on the other. It's shaped by invasions of Mongols, Patzinnaks and Tartars and humans; Tartars are still writing in Poland in the 18th century. I'm Polish by background and I grew up reading the Middle Ages through the history of Poland versus the Titanic Knights. What really excited me was Poland and Lithuania versus the Teutonic Knights.
