I don't think this is really for private use by didn't they try something like this with itanium? Yes. The reality is, i think there's like a cold business calculation here. Because making these things in these massive quantities, and it is cheaper and easier to produce if they're all exactly the same. And then they just turn things on and off via soft ware - which is not much further than we are to day.
