The Cultural Elites Don't Get It in Jesus' Time

Jeremiah was famous not just for his words, but for his prophetic signs. He performed prophetic deeds of all places in the temple, announcing judgment. So that took a lot of hutsva for Jesus to quote Jeremiah in his oracle against the temple in the midst of the temple. The cultural elites don't get it in Jesus' time and they didn't getting it in Jeremiah's time.
