The Unregulated Feedback Cycle of Anxiety
The left side of the brain makes up reasons for whatever is going on inside it. And if there is a fear response for any reason, it will say you should be afraid. This is a rational fear and it will find something to be afraid of. We also have something called a negativity bias, we're always looking for what's dangerous. When you get the combination of those two, the negativity bias that's always looking for danger and then this cycle of anxiety that never lets it come down just keeps driving it up, you have a recipe for massive sustained horrific anxiety.
