Is Consciousness a Singular Representation?

Do you think of cognition, human cognition, or even consciousness as simply a result of this kind of sequential representation learning? Do you think that can emerge? Cognition, it's really hard to even define what we mean by that. I don't know how you could run an experiment to tell whether a person is a zombie or not. And similarly, I don’t know if an advanced AI system had become conscious in the sense of qualia or not.
