The Idea of the Indigenous Voice in the Australian Constitution Strikes Me as Wrong in Principle and Deeply Problematic in Practice
There are currently in a parliament of about 220 members and senators. There are currently 11 indigenous people who were elected to that parliament by the public. The government is going to have a referendum later this year to include in the constitution a separate indigenous voice, which it seems will be comprised of 24 indigenous people. And everything that government does, this voice will be able to have a say on before government does it.
