Moonlight Can Set the Moonlight on the Moon

The moon is three orders a magnitude lower than what has accreted to earth. Corals in the great barrier reef synchronize and spew out trillions of packets of eggs and sperm from their guts all at once after full moons. A study found that cryptochrome genes were expressed significantly more on new nights than other nights. The bright light from the full moon is the signal for animals, both vertebrates and invertebrates, to reproduce together.
