Is the Internal Combustion Engine Getting Deeper?

For such a big vehicle, it was quiet inside the cabin. I believe that there's a way to turn it down a little bit. You don't see that like you would in an internal combustion engine. So i'd bet it was a little loud and maybe seemed like more than you needed it to be. And i'd even like to go away completely at lower speeds in lower throttle positions.
