Every political system is, as is, ultimately a magical spell. If you use magic of your own to step out of the illusion that that spell is casting on you, then you have engaged not only in a powerful magical act, but in a profoundly political act. You know, i'm thinkingo, i mean, in ancient terms, thinking of the desert fathers or pep who are just completely monastically ascetic and so detached from society. That itself was a profoundly revolutionary act, because many of the most talented people of the time were doing that. They were pulling the plug on the empire as they didit.
