How to Get Out of a Barrel

Bilbo and the dwarves are trapped in barrels by elves. They're thrown into a river, but they don't open them back up again. Bilbo jumps on top of one barrel as it's being thrown out to get away. But he ends up getting wet himself while trying to keep his head above the water. He eventually escapes with help from an elf who helps him climb onto land.
