The Origins of Thylacines

We're referring to Thylacines as cryptids, for those who may not be familiar with the term. A cryptid is an animal that is believed by some people to exist even though its existence is not confirmed in modern mainstream science. If it turned out that they were secretly alive in a hidden valley somewhere like Arthur Conndoyle might write about, then they would be cryptids. And that's essentially the claim for Thylacine. We know they used to exist. They're believed in mainstream science today to be extinct, but some people believe they're really still out there alive in the wild - making them hidden creatures or cryptids.
