I don't think it's a question of discounting or that the other thing is more valuable. I'm not looking to the gallery to create the audience for me, but i did pay the art fair to create an audience for me. It just feals to me like i can stay where i am and the world is there. Whereas if i sent for a gallery, somebody asked me the other day, i've put my work into this galler, and i don't understand why it hasn't sold. Everybody else in the show sold something, and i didn't. Even though people loved my work, they didn't buy anything. And she's really knocked back by that, as
