Ernie Hudson's Ghostbusters

Michael Crichton wrote the book in 1980 and it took 15 years to get it made. Fox actually optioned it before he finished the book. The $1.5 million they gave Michael Crichton to write this destroyed his mind immediately. He said he became not only blocked up on this, but every project, he retreated to an isolation tank. Ernie Hudson was playing Sean Connery in Ghostbusters. That's why that was so weird. I couldn't imagine a scenario in which this whole thing was carefully planned. It looks like a blast. Everybody is having a whole lot of fun. There's power achieved."
