Apple's new language, Swift, has a strong opinion about how it wants to do concurrency. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to use any other technique in your own code or bring in some library if you don't like the way they're doing things. The decision to release combine at the same time as async await may have led to confusion over which of these APIs is the blessed one.
