The Sudanese Military's Role in the Conflict

Egypt is the country that's most overtly involved here. They don't like hematy, they see him as a glorified militia leader controlling this huge country on their southern border. But then there are these other countries in the background, Russia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia. These are all countries that have ties to the belligerents and already there's been some signs that fresh supplies of weapons have been flowing across borders. So there's a real danger here that for now it looks like a fight between these two rival wings of the Sudanese military - which could turn into a much bigger catastrophe if it becomes regionalized.
