The Psalm of Justice
The psaltar contains a flood of prayers that lament over the ruinous reign of the wicked in individual lives, within the covenant community and in israel's affairs with the nations of the earth. Neither jesus nor the new testament authors is embarrassed by the psalter's hope of justice. And they hold it out as a resource for the church's steadfast witness of holiness and peace. The arms of the wicked shall be broken away. Will interrupt the world's cycle of violence and disempower the abusers of his people. Even the demonic powers behind scenes of oppressive and predatory earthly kingdoms will fall under the justice of god.
