The Role of Governments in the Global Market Economy

The system enacted and enforced through the World Trade Organization is designed to ensure rights to corporations and rich investors. Countries that keep laws that prevent multinational corporations from taking and profiting from their valuable natural resources are countries that use too much tax money paying for things for their citizens that could be done by corporations for profit. And the governments that disobey or refuse to enact the market economy laws become enemies. That once you know about it, it's impossible not to see functioning in real time as we've documented on this show recently with Venezuela and Iran.
