"I was really having a sort of a mental emotional breakdown one day in the field," he says. "And all of a sudden, from every direction at once, front back, left, right, top, bottom, a voice spoke to me and said, don't worry, your life is one of purpose,. Be patient." He didn't tell anybody about it because he thought for sure his parents would think I was losing my mind or do something irrational.
