The Received Wisdom
ARIA Is a Multimillion Dollar Research Agency
A proposed new agency in Britain that was originally called ARPA modeled directly after the American ARPA. It has now taken on the rather more elegant title of ARIA the advanced research and invention agency. The reason it got into the news recently is because Dominic Cummings came out of hiding for the first time since he resigned having in quotes got Brexit done. He came before the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee to be asked in effect. What problem does ARIA solve why should we be creating a new agency? And his answers were rubbish, mostly rubbish they were mostly just making up stuff about how wouldn't it be great if we had more innovation and less bureaucracy.
