The Rise of Meritocracy in Education

I hate the term meritocracy because for those who don't know, meritocracy was used originally as a satirical device. It then similar to political correctness quickly got adopted by the establishment as something that we should strive for. So I think if you just take Asian Americans, they've had this, the only other group that has happened to is Jews. There's a great Malcolm Gladwell piece in the New Yorker about the history of discrimination at the Ivy League for Jewish people.
