The Influence of Marxism on Progressivism
The Marxist approach is very similar. It says that there is this objective scientific understanding of the correct understanding of politics. And therefore the people with the deepest and the most sincere understanding of these scientific forces, they should be in charge of hastening this process. That's actually how that's Lenin's addition or improvement upon improvement modification of Marxism is the idea of the avant-garde. The party needs to be full of people who so understand Marxism that they can trigger the right reactions in society to bring the rest of society along.
