In the very first episode a woman proposes to Don that they advertise cigarettes directly in the name of the death drive like put a skull and bones yeah he's well kill you. He flirts with that a little bit I think and then he's like that's too it's too direct but I thought you know in a way the whole series is about that moment initially of directly stating death drive. The rest of the series is all about in you know how we negotiate this relationship between fantasy and death drive right like that was where the series situated itself.
