CHAPTER

Nagaruguna and the Tetralama

The Tetralama in Buddhist philosophical literature is a fairly complex phenomenon. The majority of Madhyamaka thinkers after Bobby Baker gave prominence to Chandra Kirti's approach I see we've been talking so far about his ontology and his critique of other rivalOntologies but something that was very striking with Nagaruguna is his attention to philosophical methodology. He anticipates the objection that the emptiness thesis is itself empty and he finds a way around that. But there's another thing for which he's quite well known which is his use of the Tetralama they're not the only Buddhist author who uses this but he's a master of it.
