Genevieve is already on the move, all urgency and business and rattling wheels. Tony tells genevieve to stick to the back streets but even so, it's only a matter of time before a rapidly moving trash bin followed by a vacuum cleaner with a cat on top of it attracts attention. The first incident occurs just down the block when a small human dressed in bright yellow swerves in front of them on a three wheeled, pedal powered vehicle tries to snatch hortense off his back. By the time she manages to free herself, her shredded appendage is twitch and sparking. She screeches to a halt and jams her retractable link appendage into an illuminated slot.
