I Think It Was a Reaction to the Instagremt of the Birthing Process
For lake the first 50 years of this country's history, it was considered standard for middle class women to be put under twilight sleep during labor. And i do think there was an element of this that was sort of, you know, very legitimate am response to that. But you also can't really separate that from the fact that this guy just wanted, like, the right kinds of women to go back in the home and produce more. I think the instagremt was that we were discussing earlier a sort of like the apotheosis of that.
