The Importance of Separation
God Israel got into so many problems, not marriage per se, but marrying foreign wives. And these people during this time married foreign ladies and were being forced to put them away. Ezra made the leading priests and Levites and all Israel take oath that they would do as he had said. That was a hard task for Ezra to carry out. It was what was on his plate at that time.
