Is the Marxist Project Trying to Save Western Civilization?

Bukharan's course, which was to try to buy off the peasantry, would have left the Soviet Union incredibly weak. The question is whether that in the broad one could have been for the better. And I think that that assumption that undergirded a lot of Soviet thinking was essentially was wrong. But that doesn't mean that the socialist challenge to capitalism goes away.
