In the late nineteenth century, european empirial ebantion has reached its height. It's really in this period that we get some vision of world politics as such. Both woodro wilson and jon smutz were beginning to wrestle with the legacy of emancipation. They both argue that these offered a kind of dangerous vision for universal inclusion. And they had failed, and wilson's imagination, to the detriment of south africanans themselves.
