A frankfort case is designed to show that we can act freely and be morally responsible without having note possibilities. It's the result of a debate between compatiblist and incompatiblis about freewell. The traditional classical view of freewill is based on an illusion, it's just an illusion. So in typical cases where our behaviour is inevitable, it turns out we don't act freely because our acts have the wrong kinds of causes.
