How Do They Respond to the Word of God?

In Acts 5, the 12 gathered all the disciples together and said it would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of god in order to wait on tables. They chose seven men from among you who were known to be full of the spirit and wisdom. The names sound to me to be more hellenistic than hebraic. So again, we have good followed by persecution. And then what's the next little section? Say, but stephen seized. We had the beggar persecution. We having serving the poor, the widows, and we have persecution.
