Is There a Relationship Between Specific Phobias and Other Anxiety Disorders?

Is there a relationship between specific phobias and other anxiety disorders like social phobia or agaraphobia which for our listeners is just the fear of being in public or crowded spaces? Yeah so we looked at this years ago I think when I was still a graduate student in the 1990s I think we published a paper on this. What we found was that they often go hand in hand it's not unusual for people to have a specific phobia as well as some other problem but if the most severe problem tends to be the only thing they have.
