I Think It's a Good Reminder of Certain Things
Perry: It's not great that on the second anniversary of an unprecedented violent assault on democratic self-government, America didn't have much time for commemoration or reflection. There were some remarkable scenes and I think quite telling scenes right after it all ended around midnight or so on January 6 or in the very early morning hours of January 7. The newly elected speaker of the house, Kevin McCarthy, took a selfie with all smiles, with Marjorie Taylor Greene,. In his first speech and in his new role, McCarthy railed against what he called a woke indoctrination in our schools. He praised none other than Donald Trump for his support when speaking to reporters.
