I think gratitude is a powerful motivator, both short term and long term. Do you explicitly practise it outside of running? I have a daily planner where there's space at the bottom to rite and all the things you're grateful for. i really try to do that every day. Once you get in the habit of it, just like anything else, it's like training. You're training your brain to sort of notice it and sit in it and pay attention to it. And the more you train, the easier it's going to feel in so many different arenas.
