The Golden Rule of Hermeneutics 101
The Bible isn't a rule book, but as you all know, there are lots of rules in it. How do we know which ones to trust and obey? Well, there are four very basic rules of hermeneutics. The primary way of getting to the right interpretation is what scholars call authorial intent. For example, for me to greet another man or a woman with a holy kiss means something very different in 2020 than it would have an Ephesus in 1850.
