He was good friends with Christopher Hitchens frequently went for lunch with him and you know, lived in that milieu,. if you like. When he came on my show about two years ago to have a conversation with NT Wright, he really described to me the way in which he kind of got past that new atheist phase himself. And it made him wonder whether maybe the tide is turning, maybe there's, you know, the church is able to speak into a more receptive crowd as he put it.
