Identity Politics - A Discussion That Is Constructive and Conscious

I think that one of the things that has emerged most from everything we've all been saying is that there is a social pathology that is overarching. I am particularly worried about discourse that emphasizes our differences in a way that obfuscates our commonality. We began by talking about the various ways that identity politics can be used and deployed in the understanding of what it means based on how it's used. And so you know I think it's great when everyone can first agree on the goal and I think we did have a clear common vision of how society can be better once that happens then it's just a question of figuring out how best to construct the politics that fosters that ultimate vision.
