What Influence Did the Churches Have?
The churches organized ta collection of funds from both within ireland and abroad. And there is a sense in which this has been remarked on before, that the irish familine is one of the first to be relieved from abroad. There was, in a sense, global relief, particularly trough the catholic and through the society of friends,. Through the quakers, and like the catholic church, wherever there were irish people organized collections and sent sent money back.
