The Locust Invasion of Chapter Two
The relationship between the locust invasion of chapter two and that of chapter one is debated by commentators. John barton, responding to hans walter wolfe, challenges the sharp differentiation between the events of the two chapters. He argues that nothing can really be said about the time reference of the prophecy on the basis of the verb forms used. Barton's understanding is that both chapters refer to the same locust invasion.
