Why Isn't the Civil Rights Movement Considered a Revival Movement?
Derwin: It's interesting that in the civil rights movement, you saw a large group of Christians actively participating. And yet they were rejected by a lot of white evangelicalism as illegitimate. Now we see a movement, the maga movement, which is actively hostile to the teachings of Jesus. Yet a bunch of white evangelicals are going, "No, no, no, this is really Christian" and it's just 'ridiculous backwards,' Derwin says.
