This week's episode is dedicated to common misconceptions about self help, personal growth therapy and psychology altogether. The first misconception we addressed is the idea that self help therapy,. virtually all personal growth, is fundamentally self indulgent and nurse assist. It removes us from the world, and it just leads to this very self centred perspective. And most of the literature related to psychology actually focuses on how we are in relationship with others. Essentially, being good to ourselves is often good to the people around us. We will release a part next week which will explore some more of these misconceptions.
