The Absolute Non Subjective Principle

The religious enterprise seems to say, well, almost all value is subjective. But there are one or maybe a couple values that are absolute. And should we call that an absolute value to animate and to guide behavior and culture? i think at least part of the reason why religions have,. every great civilization, every civilization, every tribe, every everything has had some relation to that.

As most reading this will know, bitcoin is a genuinely unprecedented phenomenon, which appears to have far-reaching implications which we are only just beginning to appreciate.

Additionally, the more one learns about bitcoin, the more they discover there is to learn.

This podcast was primarily motivated by my interest to speak with others who've been gripped by this thing, and have a discussion with them, in the hope that doing so will contribute to the refinement of my understanding of it in some way.

However, given how mysterious bitcoin is, and how far-reaching it's relevance, understanding it requires investigating a plethora of related fields, concepts, themes, ideas and systems of knowledge.

Doing so properly requires the right conversational partner, and sufficient time.

I've recently been inspired by my friend Robert Breedlove, who is pioneering a new super-long-form format, on his podcast 'The What is Money Show' (which I highly recommend you check out). I believe his longest thus far is with Michael Saylor, and at the time of writing they've done 17 shows at over 1 hour each.

While this format may not be for everyone, the idea of getting together with some of the brightest, most genuine people I've come across, and feeling no time constraints whatsoever as we explore some of the most challenging or meaningful aspects of the bitcoin phenomenon (and life generally), was very appealing.

So, I figured I'd give it a try.

This first series is with Joel (aka. Untapped Growth). Joel has appeared on the podcast a few times, and is doing incredibly interesting and important work in regenerative ranching / citadel building. He's also an extremely thoughtful, wise and articulate individual, who I've had the pleasure of spending some great in-person time with, discussing many of the topics which we both find deeply meaningful.

As a result, I couldn't think of anyone better to try out this new format with. Pretty excited for it actually!

Note: I'm somewhat mobile at the moment, and my recording conditions are not ideal. I also moved around a lot in this episode (felt like walking around), so the audio isn't great, but hopefully it's not too distracting to enjoy the conversation. I'm working on solutions for this.
