The chat GPT, the probabilistic model had invented references, including names of books and authors in order to back up its response. In March, OpenAI released the newest model in the series, GPT-4 which was trained on far more data. And one of the things that I personally noticed when I was doing some testing was that hallucinations became less frequent.
