The chronicle at Jordynus claims that Attila murdered Blader on a hunting trip. We will never know exactly what happened, but it's clear that by the mid-440s Attila is soul king of the Huns. He has assumed the role without causing a civil war and Blader was simply vanished from history. Constantinople is protected by the famous double line of the Theodosian walls. Sacking it will make the position of any Hun king unassailable.
